Step 1
Hold the driver horizontally. Place one hand on each end of the shaft. Place the driver behind your neck or rest it comfortably across your shoulders.
-
Step 2
Twist from side to side in this position. Using small turns, start slowly. At the same slow pace, increase your range of motion. A total of 20 – 30 times is sufficient.
-
Step 3
Hold two irons together. Make sure your grip is secure but comfortable. Simply swing the clubs back and forth as you would when you hit a golf ball. Do not hit the ground, the mat or a golf ball. Do not use a full back swing or a full follow through (forward swing). This is simply a warm up exercise to help you loosen your muscles and increase your flexibility and range of motion so you can enjoy an injury free round of golf.
-
Step 4
Incorporate knee bends in your warm up. With the club behind your neck as in #1, do several knee bends (squats). These are not extremely aggressive knee bends, but are simple physical maneuvers to help loosen your muscles and increase your flexibility.

on 5/15/2009 Excellent tips for warm up ! One sided exercise like golf and bowling tend to set a person up for repetitive strain problems. Great article !
