A day spent in the Summer sun is great until you get home and find that your skin is not only sunburned but blistered. Ouch! Your skin forms a blister as a natural band-aid to help heal the skin and provides a protective barrier against infection. So, the worst thing you can do is to pop the blister. This will not only prolong healing and make the healing process more painful, but it could also damage the skin even further. The next time you find yourself with sunburn blistered skin try these home remedies to help ease the pain and promote healing. The remedies in this article have antibacterial qualities making them a good choice in treating sunburn blisters and preventing infection.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Prevention is the best remedy. Always protect your skin when you will be out in the sun for long periods of time. Put on SPF lotion regularly, including each time you get out of the water, even it is waterproof, better to be safe than sorry. Wear a hat and shades whenever possible. Yes, a tan looks great but everytime you burn you are increasing your risk for having skin problems and not looking your best when you get older. Use sunless tanners to get that tanned look you desire.

  2. Step 2

Wear loose cotton clothing on sunburn blisters. Don't put bandages on them because they need air to breath and heal. Keep them uncovered as much as possible.

  3. Step 3

To soothe the pain of sunburn blisters take a luke warm bath. Add one of the following: 2-3 cups Apple Cider Vinegar, 5-8 tea bags, 1 cup baking soda or 1-2 cups Oatmeal. You can also add in several drops of lavendar oil with any of these options. All have been shown to be excellant home remedies for sunburn blisters by relieving the sting and pain. After your bath, apply one of the topical remedies.

  4. Step 4

Using cotton balls, gently apply Apple Cider Vinegar to the blisters as long as they are not broken. You can also put some in an empty spray bottle and just spray it on. Put on as often as needed for pain, to keep the sunburn blisters clean and to promote healing.

  5. Step 5

Another home remedy for sunburn blisters is honey. Simply apply honey to the blisters with your fingers and leave on as long as possible. To keep the honey from sticking to your fingers too much, spray a little cooking oil on them. The honey can be rinsed off with water.

  6. Step 6

Lavendar Oil is a wonderful home remedy for sunburn blisters because it helps to repair and heal tissue. It smells awesome too! Gently apply the Lavendar Oil directly to the blisters as needed.

  7. Step 7

For moisturization and infection fighting apply Virgin Coconut Oil. This is an amazing oil. It absorbs quickly and works wonders on sunburn blisters. It could even keep you from peeling. It has been shown to be a very effective home remedy for sunburn blisters

Tips & Warnings
  • Never pop a sunburn blister. They will pop on their own when they have done all they need to do to heal the skin underneath.
  • Don't use greasy ointments, butter, benzocaine, baby oil or petroleum jelly on sunburn blisters. They will trap in the heat because the oil sits on top of the skin and doesn't absorb quickly.

They are on her back and she is so uncomfortable and agonizing. Please help! We don't have the money for a doctor or the hospital. Any home remedies for popped sunburn blisters?
