Things You'll Need:
- Felt in your chosen color, a piece larger than an average garbage can lid.
- Clean garbage can lid (for a pattern)
- Spool of pretty cord or ribbon that's not too slick to stay tied shut
- Fabric scissors
- Sharp, large hole punch
- Optional: Pinking shears, fabric glue, fabric decorations from fabric stores (see article for specifics)
-
Step 1
Cut out the pajama bag. Lay the clean garbage can lid on the felt, and trace around it to make a perfect circle. Carefully cut out the circle. For added fun, cut the circle out with pinking shears.
-
Step 2
Punch holes around the entire edge. Measure about two inches in from the edge for each hole, and punch the holes about an inch apart.
-
Step 3
Decorate if you choose. Turn circle over to the side that will be on the outside of the pajama bag when you gather the cord to close the pajama bag. Use fabric glue to attach jiggle eyes, pompoms, floral or insect appliqués, felt initials, flat glow in the dark designs, felt cutouts in a complementary color, or other fabric decorating ideas you find at the craft store.
-
Step 4
Place pajamas in the center of the felt circle (undecorated side), pull the cord or ribbon tight to close it up at the top, and tie in a bow.
