Things You'll Need:
- A couple bottles of rose wine (depending on the number of guests)
- Apple vodka
- Pineapple rum
- Peach schnapps
- Brandy
- maraschino cherries
- fresh fruit - oranges,
- lemon, lime
- bar sugar (optional)
-
Step 1
Sangria is traditionally made in batches. I like to mix mine by the cocktail glass because folks have different tastes. In the bottom of your mixer glass, drop a few maraschino cherries, orange and lime sections and fine sugar (to taste), if you are using it. Muddle. Fill mixer with crushed ice.
-
Step 2
I prefer a lighter rose when making this Sangria Punch. Feel free to use the red (or white!) wine of your choice. Pour in 4 ounces of wine, 1 ounce apple vodka, 1 ounce pineapple rum, 1/2 ounce peach schnapps, 1/2 ounce brandy. Unlike James Bond, I like to stir it AND shake it! I stir it to get the muddled fruit and sugar well-mixed and then I shake it to bruise and release the flavors of the liquors. Also, shaking your Sangria Punch provides a quick chill.
-
Step 3
Using a strainer, pour your Sangria Punch into a glass of your choice. Add slices of citrus fruit, pineapple and/or maraschino cherries, stir. Garnish with fruit skewered on a toothpick and serve. Sangria Punch makes any day a Fiesta!
