Bamboo is an alternative to hardwood floor that is just as attractive and durable. Caring for your bamboo is not difficult, but should be done routinely to ensure the life of your floor.

Difficulty: Moderate
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Mop
  • dust mop
  • vinegar
  1. Step 1

Start by using a soft dust mop several times a week to remove any dust and grim that may cause your floor' s finish to become dull. Use mats at doors to catch dirt as someone enters the room or have them remove their shoes.

  2. Step 2

You should never use a wet mop on bamboo floors. When deep cleaning, add a very small amount of white vinegar to water and dampen your mop. You can then mop over the floor, but do not leave it wet. Clean your mop often to remove grime.

  3. Step 3

When cleaning, use only a product recommended for bamboo. Do not use cleaners for hardwood floors, or anything that contains wax. Due to the soft nature, bamboo should not be waxed or cleaned with any alkaline product.

Tips & Warnings
  • Vinegar will help sanitize as well.
  • Do not over wet.
