My Beaded Garden has crystal roses with opals, roses of chiffon and navette acrylic stones, roses of stacked fuchsia beads dripping with sequins, yellow bugle bead roses, and daisies of pearls, seed beads, rhinestones and hearts, and leaves of colored glass. My Beaded Garden has a glass bugle rainbow walkway, butterflies of silver lined seed beads, pollywogs of pearls and silver seed beads on a purple lace wavy stream, an orchid with a bead stamen and sequin petals, multi-colored raspberries, an adorning fringe hedge, with lace pearl fence, glass round grapes, and a row of negligee ribbon with beads playing peek-a-boo. All of this in the calming and soothing colors of purple and pink. A thing of beauty is a joy to behold. To look into the clarity, color and depth of beads displayed is truly meditative.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • favorite beads any size and color.
  • favorite fabrics in complementary colors
  • trimmed in ribbon
  • deep frame or add ruler type sticks to back of regular frame to deepen sufficiently to accommodate beads
  1. Step 1

    1. To make your Beaded Garden just sew your favorite fabrics together (as in a Crazy Quilt). No rules just enjoy the beauty. I used silk, velveteen, wool and cotton, ribbons, lace, and chiffon

  2. Step 2

    2. I used a scroll loom. Using a small needle and regular sewing thread, I embellished the flowers in the fabric with beads of similar or complimentary color, outlining some flowers and filling others in. On the plain fabrics of texture, I displayed my other favorite beads in varied appealing compositions and stitches. Also, lampwork beads and rhinestones accent the regal scenery, even a few embroidery stitches.

  3. Step 3

    3. I matted My Beaded Garden with ribbons and framed. The finished work is 14” by 15”
