Having trouble getting your iron-on patches to work? This article shows you how!

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  1. Step 1

Preheat your iron to it's hottest cotton setting.

  2. Step 2

Place the article that the patch is to be ironed onto on a hard, heat safe surface such an as ironing board. If an ironing board is unavailable, you may use a counter top, cutting board, desk, etc.

  3. Step 3

Place your patch onto the cloth where you want the patch to be permanently fixed and place your pressing cloth (pillowcase, t-shirt, etc) on top of the patch.

  4. Step 4

Apply the pre heated iron onto the patch, pressing firmly for approximately 60 seconds. DO NOT move the iron back and forth like you're ironing wrinkles; simply hold the iron still and press firmly.

  5. Step 5

Flip the entire garment over, so the patch is now face-down on the ironing surface. Re-cover with the pressing cloth and re-apply the iron, pressing firmly for approximately 60 seconds.

  6. Step 6

Allow garment to cool completely before using/wearing.

Tips & Warnings
  • Do not move the iron around while pressing. Simply keep the iron still and press firmly
  • If the patch loosens in the wash, you can re-fasten it by repeating the ironing process.
  • These instructions are for ironing onto cotton fabric. If your fabric is not cotton, then follow the manufacturers instructions for ironing.
