With the recent Swine Flu scare, everyone is looking for a way to avoid getting sick, even while working out. If you frequent a gym to get your exercise, you may want to follow a few steps to prevent getting and spreading germs.

Difficulty: Moderate
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Disinfectant wipes
  • Hand sanitizer
  1. Step 1

Stay home if you are sick. This is the easiest way to prevent spreading the germs you may carry.

  2. Step 2

Avoid using the area of the gym where someone who is sick may be working out. This includes the shower and locker area. Talk to the gym manager about using a cleaning program to prevent the spread of germs.

  3. Step 3

Clean all equipment before and after you use it. Using disinfectant wipes is the easiest way to wipe and dispose of germs. If not, use a spray such as Lysol.

  4. Step 4

Clean your hands before leaving the gym. You can use soap and water or a hand sanitizer like Germ-x. Do not use the towels provided at the gym, take your own and wash it after every visit.
