Everyone wants to hit a jack in baseball...everyone wants to know how to hit for power in baseball. And the answer is surprisingly easy, it's not rocket science. It's not how hard you swing, but the fundamentals that will have heads turning at the sight of you hitting a home run.

Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Bat
  • Baseball
  • Field
  • Pitcher
  1. Step 1

    First, we'll want to get in our basic stance. Extend your bottom hand out in front, palm facing up. Take your top hand and extend that above your bottom hand, palm facing down. Take your hands and rest them slightly above your shoulders, coming to about 1 o'clock.

  2. Step 2

    Next, your legs should be just about shoulders width apart. Knees should be slightly bent, just a linebacker in football.

  3. Step 3

    Align your body in six different areas. Your ankles, knees, waist, shoulders, neck, and head, always stay in the same position. The front side is responsible to take us to the ball.

  4. Step 4

    Stay in 'center mass' throughout your stroke. Meaning, the middle of the plate should line up with your belly button and the center of your head. Make sure throughout your stroke, your 'center mass' (belly button and head) stays in alignment with the middle of the plate.

Tips & Warnings
  • Always get in the batters box back foot first.
  • Take preliminary swings with a goal in mind...always think to yourself how to hit for power in baseball, and you'll be in a good position mentally.
  • Make sure you slign your belly button and head in the middle of home plate, and stay there throughout your stroke. That will help you keep your weight back, so you can learn how to hit for power in baseball.
