Step 1
Choose polyester-based jerseys. These are lighter and wick away moisture. Cotton T-shirts are popular, but in the heat, especially if your child perspires a lot or gets wet, they can be heavy and uncomfortable.
-
Step 2
Know your spending limits. As with other pieces of sports clothing, the more high-tech the fabric, the better the function and the higher the cost.
-
Step 3
Take care of team or game jerseys. Team uniforms come with jerseys, usually monogrammed and in traditional colors (red, royal or navy blue, black, maroon). They require special care to maintain.
-
Step 4
Pay close attention to the washing instructions for these jerseys, especially because of the custom printing for names, numbers and logos.
-
Step 5
Turn the jerseys inside out to help preserve their printing, and wash them in cold water.
-
Step 6
Hang-dry jerseys. It is best not to put them in the dryer.
