      Launch Photoshop and open the photo file that you want to convert to a cartoon image.

      Click “Filter” on the toolbar at the top of the Photoshop window. Select “Brush Strokes” and “Ink Outlines...” to open the dialogue box. Adjust the sliders in the Options area to get the results you want. For example, set Stroke Length to “3,” Dark Intensity to “0” and Light Intensity to “40.”

      Sharpen the image if necessary. From the top toolbar, click “Filter,” select “Sharpen” and then click “Sharpen Image” or “Sharpen More.” Adjust brightness and contrast, if needed. Click “Image” on the main toolbar, select “Adjust” and click “Brightness/Contrast...” on the drop-down menu.

      Click “Filter,” then “Distort” and “Spherize...” for a squeezed image. Choose "Horizontal only" in the Mode drop-down menu. Adjust the slider to set the percentage for your image. For example, enter “-100.”

      Flip the cartoon image to add variety. Go to the toolbox and choose the “Polygonal Lasso” tool. Right-click on your image and choose "Select All." When the image is activated, right-click again and select "Flip Horizontal".
