Activate a Bluetooth Headset

This article will demonstrate how to activate a Bluetooth headset and use the headset with a cell phone. Though cell phone models differ, activating a Bluetooth device is similar on all phones. To activate a Bluetooth headset device:

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Cell phone, Smart phone or PDA
  • Bluetooth Headset
  1. Step 1

Set your Bluetooth headset device to Discovery mode. To do this, usually you just hold down the control button for 3+ seconds - until the light stays continuously lit. If the device asks for a passcode, the default passcodes for these devices are 0000 or 1234. Consult the users manual of the device for the correct code if not listed here.

  2. Step 2

Set your phone or mobile device to find the Bluetooth device. To do this, go to Settings, and find the Bluetooth link. Activate the link (select Yes to activate).

  3. Step 3

Set the phone to Find Audio Device mode. The phone will search and the Bluetooth device will register. Click Confirm or Ok.

  4. Step 4

Exit Settings mode on the phone. Your Bluetooth headset device is now connected and ready to use.

Tips & Warnings
  • You must be within range with your two devices - Usually 30 feet or less
