In this struggling economy everyone is looking for ways to save money. One way is to make your old clothes and shoes last longer. This article is gonna give several simple steps to make your shoes stay clean and last longer.

Difficulty: Easy

Things You'll Need:

  • Toothpaste

    Old Shoes

The first thing that you can do is more of a preventative measure to keep your shoes clean. Always keep an extra pair of older shoes in your car or at home to wear when it gets nasty outside. When you cut back on the rain and mud it adds life to a new pair of shoes.

  2. Step 2
    Toothpaste

One real good way to clean your shoes is by using toothpaste. This works especially well on shoes starting to get that dingy look and losing brightness. After scrubbing your shoes with toothpaste and warm water they will be shades brighter right before your eyes.

  3. Step 3
    High-Pressure Water Hose

    High-Pressure Water Hose

This is one of my favorite ways to clean dirty shoes because it's so simple and takes just seconds. A high-pressure water hose will knock the dirt right off your kicks. If you can find a real cheap do-it-yourself car wash then you can do it while washing your car and kill two birds with one stone.

Tips & Warnings
  • Watching where you walk and step could also prevent causing damage to your shoes.
  • Be careful with the high-pressure hose as you don't want to get the shoes too wet.
