Hair clippers are used to cut hair on men, women and even pets. Many men use clippers to not only cut their own hair, but to trim their beard or mustache as well. Men who use clippers for these reasons will find that their clippers quickly become clogged. To keep clippers working like new, they must be properly cared for. Regular cleaning and maintenance is quick, easy, and should be done on a weekly basis.

Things You'll Need:

  • · Small brush or toothbrush Rubbing alcohol Lubricating oil Towel or paper towels
  1. Step 1

Hold the clippers over the bathroom sink. Plug them into the outlet and turn the power on. Slowly pour a couple tablespoons of alcohol over the moving part of the clippers.

  2. Step 2

Use the brush that came with the clippers to scrub the blades. This should remove any hair buildup. If you do not have the brush, or have lost it, use a small toothbrush.

  3. Step 3

Pour a couple more tablespoons of rubbing alcohol over the blades. Scrub them again with the brush. Continue this process until all the hair is removed.

  4. Step 4

Turn off the clippers. Rinse the blades under warm water. Pat dry with a cloth towel or paper towels.

  5. Step 5

Lubricate the blades with oil for hair clippers such as Fortex or Wahl. Follow the instructions on the bottle, as it may vary depending on the brand.
