Watching Blu-Ray is much more than just getting a high def TV. You want to know all the "little" things that will help you in watching the highest quality movie. Trust me, it is def. worth it.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

First and foremost, you need an HD-TV. 720p, 1080i, or 1080P.

720p is the lowert resolution you can have. It is much better than the normal tv (480), but not NEAR as clear as 1080p

{1080i is close in contrast to 720p)

  2. Step 2

You need to have a Blu-Ray player. I suggest the Playstation 3. It is a Sony Blu-Ray player as well as a gaming machine. If you are going to spend 300-400 bucks on a Blu-Ray player, why not get a high def gaming system too??

  3. Step 3

Once you have your HD-TV and Blu-Ray player, you want to make some adjustments to your TV. Espicially in 1080p, you want to move the "contrast" down from 90 to aronud 60. This will give you a clearer picture. Also, you want to adjust your "black level" to high. This will make your blacks very BLACK and not gray.

  4. Step 4

The best movies I have seen in Blu-Ray are:

    The Shawshank Redemption
    The Dark Knight
    Top Gun
