They say all politics are local, so get involved in politics sooner rather than later and start locally first. Research who is running for which office in the next election. There are city, county and state races coming up in the next year. Get involved in them early. Most campaigns start one year before the actual election.

If you want to start a political career or get involved in politics, send in a resume to the candidate of your choice, but do not stop there. Make a phone call to the campaign manager or anyone you know who may know the candidate and can put in a good word for you. Be persistent, but not pushy. Be enthusiastic!

Go to the candidate's office to hand your resume to someone in person. Tell them you want ot get involved. Share your interest in getting involved in politics and wanting to support their candidate and why.

Once you get your foot in the door of the political arena, work your rear end off and impress them with your work ethic and loyalty to the like causes you have with the candidate. Eventually you will be noticed, welcomed into the political arena and possibly offered a job somewhere down the road.
