Nonverbal communications - what you don't say, makes up approximately 75% of your presentations, while your words only make up approximately 7%. Be aware of this in presentations and interviews.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • awareness of your body language and facial expressions
  1. Step 1

Body language says more than your mouth could ever say. Sometimes in professional presentations, it is not what you say, but what you don't say that people hear. In interviews or while giving presentations, be aware that you are telling the audience many things by the way you gesture, move, the expressions you make and more.

  2. Step 2

Be aware of your posture, your energy level, eye contact, mood, tone of your voice and overall body language in order to send the positive nonverbal messages your audience needs to hear and see.

  3. Step 3

Prepare your presentation with your speech and power point, or whatever other means you may have. However, NEVER underestimate the power of body language, facial expressions and every single nonverbal message you send your audience in order to give a professional presentation that they will enjoy.

Tips & Warnings
  • Be enthusiastic, upbeat and look AND sound like you are happy to be the presenter.
  • Sometimes people will see what you are saying through nonverbal communications an never hear what you are saying. Make sure your body language and the nonverbal communications you project match what you are saying. This will make you a good presenter with a solid presentation they will truly enjoy.
