Toddlers tantrums are can an extremely frustrating experience. They typically occur at the worst possible time, like while you are shopping in a crowded supermarket or drug store. During these temper tantrums, little can be done. There are, however, a few techniques that you can work on at home that will help you learn to talk to toddlers.

    Encourage communication - Talking to toddlers has been proven to help the development of language skills in young children. When children practice their communication skills, they become more confident in their ability to express their feelings.

    Encourage your toddler to listen - When children are young, they spend a majority of their time listening. Listening can sometimes cause a tremendous amount of stress and frustration. Teach your toddler to pick out the action words, such as walking, running or running.

    When children are able to communicate effectively, toddler tantrums will be reduced.

  3. Step 3

    Use simple phrases - When talking to toddlers, it is extremely important to use words and phrases that you know your child is familiar with. Get straight to the point using as few words as possible. Try not to give more than two or three commands at a time.
