Step 1
Make a list of all Discharged Army Veterans you know...family, friends, etc.MAKE A LIST OF ALL ARMY VETERANS YOU WOULD LIKE TO REQUEST A COMMENDATION FOR. Write down the names of the Veterans you know who have served in the US Army. Perhaps that person is a family member, neighbor, friend, co-worker,etc., take time to say "thanks."

Step 2
Pull out your address book for addresses of those on your list.GET ADDRESSES FOR THOSE ON YOUR LIST. Now that you have your list, gather the addresses for each of those on your list. These addresses may be in your address book but if not, give the person a call if you have their number or contact someone who knows the individual and has that info. you need. If possible, ask the Veteran what his rank was when he left the Army.

Step 3
Get ready to submit your names via internet.GET ON THE INTERNET. Once you have your list of name(s), head over to your computer to begin submitting names to receive Freedom Team commendations.

LOG ONTO FREEDOM TEAM SALUTE WEBSITE.
Go to www.https://www.freedomteamsalute.com -
Step 5
HONOR SOMEONE. On the page you will see a box that says "Honor Someone". Click on that box.

GENERAL INFORMATION. You will now see a box that says General Information. The first box will ask how you heard about Freedom Team Salute. If the first time you've ever heard of FTS is now, select the Volunteer Ambassador box because I am an Ambassador sharing this information proudly with you all...smile. The next box asks your Army status. This is self-explanatory. You select Public if you are anyone other than the others on that list. The last box will ask you who do you want to honor. Select the appropriate individual you want to honor. Again, self-explanatory.

Step 7
FILL IN INFORMATION FOR THE PERSON YOU ARE HONORING. Another box will then open and reads The Person I Am Honoring. Fill in this information completely and accurately. If you know the Veteran's rank, include it in the appropriate area but if you don't know it, that is fine.

FILL IN YOUR NAME. In this box, fill out your information and details.

Have a great holiday and thanks for thanking an Army Veteran!HAVE A WONDERFUL MEMORIAL DAY! Check with your Army Veteran(s) you submitted for a commendation in about 6 weeks to make sure they received their package. More than likely they will contact you first to say thanks to you for remembering them and saying thanks to them for their service. This is a special way of remembering Army Veterans during Memorial Day, Veteran's Day, 4th of July and any other day! Have a fun but safe holiday!
