Being a good baby sitter isn't always simple. Sometimes we over load ourselves with too many children or we find ourselves acting unethical. From reading this article you'll learn how to be a good baby sitter.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Educational Activities
  • Books
  • Toys
  • Creativity
  1. Step 1

A new baby sitter will need to inform the parents on what they will charge per hour. Baby sitters that work at their own house usually charge less then going to the clients house.

  2. Step 2

As a new baby sitter you won't want to take on too much at once. In order to get used to watching children take on only one to three at a time.

  3. Step 3

Baby sitters should always be respectful and polite to the parents and children they are baby sitting. Always go by the rules of the parents that you are baby sitting for. This includes if you are watching the child at night time you must put the child to bed at the parents requested time.

  4. Step 4

The day or night you go to baby sit make sure that you bring toys, coloring books, books to read, and other creative things the children will enjoy. Also, you should include educational activities that are good for learning and having fun.

  5. Step 5

Make sure at lunch or dinner if you are at their house that you give the child enough time to eat and that you wash the dishes afterward. This is a sign of a good baby sitter. If you are watching the child at your house and the parents have brought the food make sure you wash their dish after they're done. If you are watching more then one child at a time then you need to properly label each container.

  6. Step 6

If you are working at your house then make the parent feel comfortable by showing them around. If you are working at their house then have them show you around so you can feel more comfortable.

  7. Step 7

As a baby sitter you should include yourself in the activities and have fun with the children. Make sure you show the children enough attention because if you don't it could back fire later. Make sure you don't have any body over if it is against the parents wishes.

  8. Step 8

At the end of the night tell the parents how much you enjoyed the children if you plan on coming back. Also, make sure that they know you're interested in being their baby sitter again.

  • Don't smoke, curse, or drink around children it will influence how they act.
