Things You'll Need:
- An open mind
-
Step 1
First you must realize that we are our energy. What you think, do, feel, and say effect that energy. The more positive your energy is the more equally positive will be drawn to you. Same is said for negative energy. So be aware of you motivations.
-
Step 2
Clean your house. I know that sounds a bit silly but a dirty house can effect our moods. If you have areas of chaos (dirty cloths piled up, a table that acts as a catch all, a work area that is stacked with randomness, etc.) it encourages chaotic energy. Now I am not saying we should all keep a spotless home with nothing out of place. It isn't the everyday messes that happen but the ones we all tend to let pile up and go unmaintenanced that effect our energy the most.
-
Step 3
Get outside and get some fresh air. Keeping ourselves stuck inside buildings only teaches us to close ourselves off from the world and makes our energy become stagnant. Go for a walk or even just sit outside and get some fresh air. Try not to worry about what you aren't getting done and just let yourself be for awhile. Try to get out into nature as often as possible.
-
Step 4
Do something for someone you don't know. It could be as simple as donating some of the things you don't need (cloths, household goods, etc) to a good cause, and that will also help you clean house! It is a win win for you! You could even volunteer your time. Just find something you care about and get active. It could involve children, elderly, needy, or even animals. I know we are all busy but taking the time, even if it is to write letters/emails for a cause, helps us be thankful for what we do have and can do.
-
Step 5
Be nice even when you don't want to be. I know it is hard to do when someone is pushing your buttons. But that is just you taking on their negative energy and reacting to it. If you meet their negative energy with a stronger positive energy then they will either have to keep their energy and move on, or take on your positive energy. So not only did you not encourage negative in someone but you might even help them with their own energy. I am not saying let someone abuse you but we can all be the bigger person and walk away.
-
Step 6
Remove toxic people from your lives. If someone only brings you down, makes you feel bad about yourself, or encourages you to do things you know are self destructive they have no place in your life. All of us has that friend or family member that we feel obligated to but add nothing but negative and end up draining us. If you hang up the phone with someone and are constantly feeling tired or stressed all they are doing is effecting your energy negatively. Sometimes it is best to cut ties and move on.
-
Step 7
Refrain from gossiping or trash talking. Even though the person it is directed to is not present you are still giving energy to them and the feelings they cause in you. Remember, negative draws in negative!
-
Step 8
Learning some form of meditation is a great way to help shed off negative energy also. There are many different ways to meditate and all of them you can customize to yourself. Some involve breathing techniques, others positive imaging. I know some runners use it as a form of meditation. Once you find one that works for you then try and set some time everyday for yourself.
