Resveratrol pills are at the forefront of the latest news on anti-aging supplements. Resveratrol is thought to help fight cancer, lower blood sugar, fight heart disease and be an anti-inflammatory agent. It is also suspected to play a role in longevity. Find resveratrol pills that have an enteric coating. This type of coating is used to protect the active ingredient from the acids in your stomach. Stomach acids convert it to a form that is less able to be absorbed by the body.

Look for resveratrol pills that have trans-resveratrol listed as the active ingredient. This is the most biologically available form. Other forms will not have the same benefits.

Split your resveratrol pills into two doses a day, one in the morning and one in the evening. This seems to be the optimal rate. Any supplement you purchase will list a recommended dosage. There is not a agreed upon optimum dosage yet. It is still being studied. For now, 125 mg a day is a common dosage for resveratrol pills. Some people take higher doses but some have found that higher doses can lead to diarrhea.
