Step 1
There are hundreds of different prepaid phone cards, all of them are a little different. Some phone cards disconnect a lot, usually they charge for a connection fee and charge you per minute. It may be cheaper then using your personal phone, checking before buying a phone card may save you money.
-
Step 2
After you have bought your phone card you will find a sticker located on the back of the card. This sticker is covering the PIN number for this phone card. Remove the sticker and you will see the phone cards toll-free number as well as your phone cards PIN number.
-
Step 3
Call the toll-free number for the Prepaid Phone Card and you will be directed to an automated machine. Listen to all the options for more specific options, every phone card is different and the numbers available may be different.
-
Step 4
Usually after you enter the toll-free number it will ask you which language you speak. After answering which language you speak you will be asked to enter your PIN number. Enter the number on the back of your phone card.
-
Step 5
Find out what number to select to make an international or long distance call by listening to the automated machine. After selecting the number, it will ask you to dial in your long distance number. Be sure to enter in the entire phone number.
-
Step 6
Before the call goes through your phone card will usually remind you of your current balance and how many minutes are remaining. When you have used all the minutes available on the phone card, listen to the main menu for a reloadable option. Listen to all the charges before reloading, it may or may not be cheaper then buying a new phone card. The decision is up to you.
