Make a spring favorite fo mine..a flower petal covered candle holder!

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • a glass cup with base being same size as as the top (untapered)
  • faux flower petals
  • hot glue gun or regular Elmer's Glue
  • candle
  • felt (optional) scissors will be needed if you use felt for bottom of candle holder
  1. Step 1

Take the drinking glass and make sure the surface is clean and free of any textured debris. Heat up your glue gun!

  2. Step 2

Take the flower petals in the color(s) of your choice and when glue gun is heated fully, dab a dot in the middle bottom of the first flower petal and press it on the glass starting at the bottom.

  3. Step 3

repeat step two going in a circle, starting at the bottom, making sure to glue the row above the last under the top flap of the petal until you have all the petals glued onto the glass.

  4. Step 4

Add a candle inside and you have just created a spring time candle holder! If you choose to add the felt, you will now cut the felt to be the same size or a tiny bit smaller than the bottom base of the cup and glue it on. make sure to put glue all over the bottom so that it won't fall off or slide when moved!

Tips & Warnings
  • Instead of using regular flower petals, you can use hibiscus style petals that can be found in many craft stores or online at www.orientaltrading.com
  • you can add embellishments such as rhinestones, pearls or jewels to the flower petals to give it a glistening look when used at night!
  • Make sure to never leave your glue gun unattended while in use or while plugged in.
  • make sure to set your glue gun on a surface such as a paper plate or newspaper in between uses so that it does not get stuck to your table, it's not hard to get off, but it could leave marks or ruin certain finishes.
