Are you looking for a way to have fun that doesn't cost much money? Do you like to play cards?

Invite some friends over to your home for a fun night of playing cards. Turn it into a party!!!

Difficulty: Moderate
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Invitations
  • Cards
  • Tables
  1. Step 1

INVITATIONS - You can send invitations through the internet, or an e-mail, or you could mail an invitation. If you mail the invitation include an old playing card with the date written on it.

Let your friends know this is a casual event and to come comfortable.

  2. Step 2

DECOR - Get a few card tables and cover with black, white and red tablecloths. On each card table you can put some poker chips, bridge pads, a deck of cards. Go to a local party store or look online for card party related decorations.

  3. Step 3

REFRESHMENTS - Tell your guests on the invitation that refreshments will be served. You can make sandwiches and cut with cookie cutters - in the shaps of diamonds, hearts, spades and clubs. Make it easy for you and enjoyable for your guests. Don't forget beverages with long straws.

Again, at Party City on Oriental Trading you may find serving plates and cups with your card playing theme.

  4. Step 4

CHILDRENS TABLE - You may want to set up a childrens table so the kids can play Yahtzee, Uno, Old Maid or Go Fish. Or you may want to hire a babysitter and have the children in another room while the parents play the night away.

  5. Step 5

PARTY TIME - Decide before hand which card games you are going to offer. You may want to have a partner so that you can do a demonstration to teach everyone how to play.

There are some games that people don't know how to play, you may want to have a "cheat sheet" on each table with house rules so there is no confusion - some people are more serious about games than others.

Keep the fun going, make sure people are well-fed and comfortable and have a wonderful time!!!

Offer small door prizes at the end for your guests.

At the end of the night you may want to give small prizes to the

Tips & Warnings
  • Don't forget everyone doesn't like to play cards, have a special area set up and make them comfortable to "sit it out".
  • If you do it right, they may want to do it again next week!!!
