Grow High Producing Tomato Plants

Growing tomato plants that produce a lot of tomatoes is everyone's goal. Now, I reveal my secrets to do this.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • tomato plants or seeds
  • mushroom compost
  • spade
  1. Step 1

Growing tomatoes has become an art for me. Last years product left me with enough produce to supply my personal household of 3 adults, a family of 5, and two nieces. After all that, we still had enough to stew and freeze for the rest of the year. All of this off of just 18 bushes. Now, lets reveal the secret to do this.

  2. Step 2

First, you will need to decide if you are going to grow from seed or plant. In this "How to" we will be referring to using plants. If you grow from seeds, you will need to germinate them in separate pots or even a tray.

  3. Step 3

Take each plant and dig 3 to 4 inches down and 3 inches wide. The size of the hole does not have to be precise.

  4. Step 4

Place a handful of mushroom compost in the hole. Make sure that you do not add to much as you do not want to burn the plant up. Mix in a handful of the earth that you dug up and mix well. spread a hole in the middle for the plant to sit in.

  5. Step 5

Place the plant in the hole and bury it. Make sure that the dirt around it is packed so the plant will remain where it is planted.

  6. Step 6

Once the plant grows big enough, stake it or cage it so that will not fall over. Water regularly throughout the season.

Tips & Warnings
  • Digging the holes bigger to add more of the compost mixture will not harm the plants.
  • do not plant to close. Give them room to spread.
