Things You'll Need:
- Heating Pad
- Ibuprofen
- Vick's VapoRub (or generic)
-
Step 1
Take Ibuprofen for Back PainAt the first sign of back pain, take a couple of Ibuprofen tablets. You can use a brand name, like Advil or Motrin, or generic works just as well. The ibuprofen will help reduce pain and inflammation.
-
Step 2
Next, sit down in a comfortable spot with a heating pad on your lower back area. Sit with your feet up, to reduce pressure on your lower back, a sofa or bed works well.
-
Step 3
Use Vick's VapoRub for Back PainBefore you go to sleep, rub some Vick's VapoRub on your lower back. Vick's VapoRub has an analgesic in it and helps to relieve pain. Make sure to wash your hands after applying, because you do not want to get it in your eyes.
-
Step 4
Wear a ThermaCare Wrap for Back PainIf you have to leave the house, use a portable heat wrap, such as ThermaCare. These heatwraps keep heat on your lower back while you are on the go. Make sure to take ibuprofen with you as well, and take as directed for back pain and inflammation.
