How to Make a Large Greeting Card
Large greeting cards make a big statement of greeting and stand out when displayed on a shelf with other greeting cards. They're also extremely useful in instances where more than one person needs to sign the card. For example, when a colleague is leaving work for a new job, or has recently had a baby, a larger-than-normal greeting card gives room for plenty of messages and wishes from numerous friends and workmates. Large cards need large embellishments, and those originally intended for use in scrapbooks are ideal.

1
Fold a sheet of 12-inch by 12-inch scrapbook card stock in half and run a blunt object down the crease line to make it sharp and neat.
-
2
Arrange appropriate scrapbook toppers, greetings and embellishments on the front of the card blank to find an arrangement you like. Leave a space for the greeting, which could either be rubber stamped or put in place with rub-on transfers or stickers.

Glue the embellishments in place. Use craft glue, glue dots or double-sided tape to affix them in place. If you'd like to create a raised effect to highlight a particular embellishment, for instance the central image, use foam pads to lift the image off the surface of the card.

Tips & Warnings
Leave the inside of the card blank, or add a simple greeting that's appropriate for the occasion. If the card will have several signatures inside, leave plenty of room so no one needs to write over the greeting.
Envelopes for large greeting cards are sometimes hard to find. Either tailor the card blank to a size of a large envelope that you already have, or make your own envelope that's big enough to hold the card.
