First visit the local flea market that you are interested in selling at. Find out how much it will cost for you to rent a space for a day or weekend. Take a stroll down the aisles of the flea market and see what everyone is selling. You don't want to sell socks if their are already many stands selling socks.

After you have decided what you would like to sell, see about getting a sales permit so that you can purchase your products at wholesale cost. Look in your city for a local wholesaler to purchase your merchandise or if you are not able to find one look online. There are many wholesale distributors online. Before you decide to make a purchase make sure you have your sales permit or tax id number. If you don't have one, you can apply for one at your state comptrollers office.

Before you leave make sure you have everything you need. Your items should have prices on them. You should also have a money box with some change. If the flea market does not supply you with a table then you will need to take one. Also don't forget a chair for yourself in case you start to get tired. Take also some water and a lunch if you plan to stay for a few hours.

Being prepared the night before will save you a lot of trouble in the morning. Also try to get there as early as possible to get a good space and the early bird shoppers. Remember to have fun and talk to your customers. Greet them as they approach your stand and show them the products you have to sell. Good Luck!
