If you are like most people these days, you are sitting there wishing you had more money at the end of the month to do all of the things that you dream about. It is times like these that having money in a savings account would come in handy. Saving money is a must in this time with jobs being scarce and the cost of everything rising. No matter what your reason to need to save money is, you probably do not think that you can. Most people choose not to save money because they think it is a hassle and too hard. This is untrue; you can save money without any effort.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Sign up for direct deposit where you work to save money. Most employers will allow you to split your paycheck into multiple banking accounts when you choose direct deposit. Place 10% or whatever number that you are comfortable with into a savings account automatically with each paycheck. Since the money was never in your hands or checking account you will never miss it.

  2. Step 2

Start a change jar and empty your pockets every night to save money. There is probably over $100 in loose change between your house and your car. Gather all of your loose change up and place it in a jar. When the jar is full, take it to a bank with a money counter that will give you a receipt of how much money was in the jar and place it into a savings account. You will be amazed at how fast you will be able to save money with this method.

  3. Step 3

Pay yourself $1 for every night that you spend in. This could be as simple as watching the ball game on TV at home, instead of going to the bar. You do not have to push to stay home. The idea is that when you find yourself in for the night, take $1 out of your wallet and put it in your special night in piggy bank. At the end of the month, take the money to your bank and place it into a savings account to save money.
