Ever wonder how to wash those oversized rugs that won't fit in your washing machine and you don't have the money to have them dry cleaned? Try a good pressure washing.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  1. Step 1

Remove the oversized rug from your home and place on an outside concrete area large enough for the rug to lie flat.

  2. Step 2

Pour the gentle laundry detergent on the rug. Spread over the rug so the entire area is covered.

  3. Step 3

Gently rub the soap into the rug.

  4. Step 4

Let the soap sit for a few minutes to penetrate the fibers.

  5. Step 5

Rinse the rug with a pressure washer.

  6. Step 6

Start rinsing the rug at the closest point to you. This will allow the clean area to stay clean while the dirty water is forced over the unrinsed areas. Continue rinsing in this fashion for the length of the rug.

  7. Step 7

Lift the rug onto several items that can support the weight of the rug. The outside air will dry the rug. Dry time will depend on the size and thickness of your rug.

Tips & Warnings
  • Be careful when using a pressure washer as the pressure can cause severe injury if used incorrectly.
  • Always rinse the rug away from you.
