There is a way to remove your hubcaps from your classic bug. Many people remove them with a screwdriver. That’s the wrong way. All that does is ruin your paint and in the long run can ruin your hubcap. So let’s get started on removing your hubcaps the right way. Just follow the steps below.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Buy a little hubcap clip that is made especially for the removal of classic VW hubcaps. This goes into the two holes that is on the hubcaps.

  2. Step 2

Insert the clip into the two holes. Then pull on it until the hubcap comes off. If it doesn’t come off, use a screwdriver. Put the screwdriver between the clip and use it as a lever to pull the hubcap off.

  3. Step 3

If you take your car to a service shop, you might want to give this clip to the mechanic so they don’t use a screwdriver and ruin your hubcaps. That’s it. That’s how you remove the hubcaps from your VW Beetle Bug.
