Make a Different Pet Rock
Make a Different Pet Rock

Want to make a pet rock, but not want the same old type of pet rock? Perhaps you are bored with the typical types of pet rocks you have seen? Want a craft to do with your child? This is a fun idea to make a different kind of pet rock.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • river rocks
  • Gorilla Glue
  • paint
  1. Step 1

Get rocks that will be suited to the needs of the animal that you wish to make. Flat rocks seem to be the most versatile. We took a walk along a creek to find our rocks. While choosing your rock, keep in mind the shape of the pet rock you wish to make.

  2. Step 2

Clean the rocks up a bit to remove dirt and other unwanted materials. After the rocks are cleaned, use glue to hold the rocks together. We used Gorilla glue and it worked great for our project. Allow the rocks to dry. It takes awhile for the glue to set.

  3. Step 3

Paint your pet rock. After the rocks are glued together and dry all you need to do is paint your new found pet. You can get funky and paint any color you wish. We choose to be more traditional with our rocks as you can see from the photos.

Tips & Warnings
  • Be careful with the glue. It dries fast on the fingers.
  • If you are having trouble holding your rocks in place while the glue is drying try a clamp.
