Things You'll Need:
- 2 Tbsp. ground sesame seed or tahini
- 2 gloves garlic - minced or crushed
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1/4 tsp. cummin
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 3 Tbsp. lemon juice
- 1 15 1/2 ounce can chick peas
- Save 1/4 cup of the juice and put that in with all ingredients)
-
Step 1
Gather all the ingredients listed in the items needed section.
-
Step 2
Use ground sesame seeds or tahini. I actually had some sesame seeds so I just toasted them and ground them up best I could. It's not the easiest way, but it works if you already have the seeds on hand.
-
Step 3
Put all the ingredients into the blender and blend until smooth. Turn off the blender and give it a mix with a spoon if needed. Then blend again. Add extra water if you'd like it thinner.
-
Step 4
It's really good and zesty. Enjoy! Eat with pita or crackers or vegetables!
-
Step 5
If you'd like, you can also try adding different flavors - like roasted red peppers - for a different kind of hummus, but still easy and authentic!
