Going on vacation this summer? Learn how to go green while your having fun on your vacation.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Pack a water bottle to use on vacation. This is the time when many people decide to buy water in throw-away bottles. It's easy to pack a bottle with you and use it over and over again. You will help save the earth and save some money as well!

  2. Step 2

Hang up your towels to dry in the hotel instead of requesting new ones everyday. It's not necessary to have towels washed daily when you are staying several days in the same hotel.

  3. Step 3

Put out your "Do Not Disturb" sign at your hotel and skip the housekeeping. Does it really matter if your bed is made on vacation? Tons of electricity and cleaning supplies are used in the daily cleaning of hotel rooms. At least skip a few days.

  4. Step 4

Instead of driving everywhere, rent a bike. Use your car for long destinations, but a bike for short jaunts. It's healthier for you and the earth.

on 6/18/2009 Those are really good ideas. When we went on vacation in April, we got a hotel that was within walking distance of some of the attractions we were going to. I always keep housekeeping out of my room until I check out and only request more towels if we use the swimming pool. 5* and I recommended you. =)
