Write A High Earning Ehow Article

Ehow is an awesomely, wonderful, kick arse place to write & make money online. I recommend Ehow to everyone I know as a legitimate way to supplement your income online. However, as with most people who are new to Ehow, they have a ton of questions about how to actually make the money roll in.

I've notice that most new ehower's are often discouraged by the lack of views, ratings, comments and above all earnings. As if it all happens instantaneously. It takes time, quality & tenacity to actually make money and when you apply enough of all three you can make an impressive amount of money.

Here are some tips to help you write a successful, high earning, Ehow article.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Smarts
  1. Step 1

    *CHOOSE A TOPIC*

First and foremost, take time to research your ideas. Find out if there is a demand for the information you want to give. If no one is searching the topic you are considering writing about, why write it?

Don't go wrong from the start; find out how many people are searching your topic BEFORE you write an article.

Visit these websites to find out where your topic ranks:
(Clickable links provided in resources below)

    1. Google Insights - super easy to use and very informational.
**Choose to compare by Search Terms
**Type in your topic under Search Terms (IE: Make Money Online, Find
    Attorney, Make Cassarole)
**Then filter. I like to filter my searches by the last 12 months.
**Click Search and get your results.
You'll be given results based on a scale of 1 to 100. The closer your results are to 100, the more in demand your topic is. There is also a ton more information you'll be given but if your topic ranks low on the 1 to 100 scale all that other information is useless.

    2. Word Tracker - Here you can type in your topic and word Tracker will give you the daily search volume for those keywords. Word Tracker will also provide you with a list of suggested keywords and their daily search volume. I won't typically write an article on a topic that has less than an 800 daily search value if I am trying to write a high earning article.

  2. Step 2

    *RESEARCH YOUR TOPIC*

Are you up to date on your topic? Will you be able to provide new and valuable information? Make sure you've searched the internet and scoured the news papers for all the latest and greatest information in regard to your topic. You will likely be competing with many other articles for readers. By providing useful, up-to-date, well organized content you'll be giving readers a reason to come back.

Once you feel confident that you can provide current and accurate material ...

*Find out how many articles on your topic are currently out there by using:
(clickable link provided in my resources below)

    1. Google Suggest - just type your topic into the search bar. As you type Google will provide a list of suggestions and their results. The results will be listed in green text next to the suggestions. The higher the result number the more information on your topic is out there and the more you will have to compete for readers.

*Research what keywords and phrases, pertaining to your topic, earn the most by vistiting:

    2. Google AdWords - Is a wealth of information that will make a huge difference in your earnings. Choose to generate keyword ideas by "descriptive words or phrases". Type in your topic, keyword or phrase then click "get keyword ideas". Under "Choose Columns To Display" Change the drop down list by choosing Show "Estimated AVG. CPC". This will show you a list of keyword and phrase suggestions and what their average advertising cost is. The higher the cost the higher your earnings will be for use the phrase or keyword.

  3. Step 3

    *PRODUCE A QUALITY ARTICLE*

It is so so so important to write a quality article. I cannot stress this enough.

Now that you have chosen an in demand topic and know what phrases and words will pay it's time to craft them into a comprehensive, well thought out, coherent article.

*Keywords & phrases are what attract the advertisements that make your article pay*

Do not take that list of keywords and just stuff your article full of them. Not only will that produce an article that is awkward to read but search engines are well aware of keyword stuffing and will likely black list your article for it. So use your keywords and phrases wisely. Only repeat them a few times and make sure you put them where they make sense and enhance your article.

*Write an introduction that provides an overview of what your article offers and why we should read it*

Don't write a one sentence intro. It looks half arsed, reads half arsed and probably was half arsed. Put some thought into it. Read other high rated articles to get a good idea of what a well written introduction is. It's your readers first impression.

*Check your spelling, grammar and punctuation - it MUST MUST MUST make sense*

Use periods, question marks and comma's; they identify the beginnings, ends and continuations of your thought. It's very hard to follow directions when your unsure of where one instruction began and the last one ended.

Grammar and punctuation are very important to creating an easy to read article. Keep your sentences clear cut and precise if grammar and punctuation aren't your strong suits. You can still write a comprehensive and informative article without performing grammatical acrobats and chances are that your readers will appreciate it if you don't.

*Deliver your steps as if your readers have no idea what your talking about*

Remember that your readers are searching for instructions on how to do something and they wouldn't be searching if they already knew how to do it. Don't assume that we have any previous knowledge. If the steps had to be explained to you, they'll have to be explained to us. Be thorough and make sure you provide all the information.

  4. Step 4

*NETWORK AND GET THE WORD OUT*

Once you have your article written let people know it's available to be read. Tell your friends & family. Post a link on your blog. Participate in forums and link back to your article ... get creative, but get it read!

Read and comment on other articles and they will likely do the same for you.

Tips & Warnings
  • Writing takes practice, we've all written sucky articles ... seriously, I wrote an article on how to open a wine bottle without a cork screw as a test article AND it's still published. Don't get discouraged if your not as successful as you hoped for at first, it takes practice and just good ol experience to get the hang of.
  • Views, Comments, Ratings and Keywords all play into how well your article will earn - produce a quality article using keywords and the Views, Comments and Ratings will follow with earnings in tow.
