Instructions

    • 1

First list what jobs you have to offer. Including the qualification you need for each listing. Decide on the pay range that you can offer for that job. Keep this list for when your making your decision of who to hire.

    • 2

Now decided on what day and time to hold the job fair on. If you have many position you may want to do more than one day. Make sure you hold your job fair open late enough for other people who work first shift that may be interested in your position.

    • 3

Call your local newspaper and advertise the job fair. List how many job you have open or what kind of job you have. Important don't forget to list the time and place for the job fair. Also list who to contact with questions of the job fair. You will want to advertise at least two days in advanced. The more you advertise the more qualified applicants you will get. Get online and check for local free classified ads. This will help with some advertising for free.

    • 4

Make signs to put out. Your want your sign to be bold, easy to read, and colorful. This will help get the most attention. If needed, put arrows on the sign to help give directions to where the applicants are to go.

    • 5

Now set up table and chairs where applicants can sit and fill out their paper work. Please leave enough room for people to walk down the isle when other applicants are filling out their paper work.

    • 6

Clearly mark where to get an application and pen, and what to do when your done with the paper work. I suggest putting a bin or a person to collect the finish applications.

    • 7

Go thru each application and give a short interview. Let the applicants your not interested in know that you will be collecting applications all day and if they fit what your looking for you will call them back. The applicants that your interest in either give them a longer interview or schedule for a second interview at later time.

    • 8

During you interview write down key point about the applicant either negative or positive. Please attach this to the application. This will help when going thru the applications latter.

    • 9

Wait to make your final decision of who to hire until after you have interview everyone your interested in. This will help to insure you have hired the best qualified applicant.

    • 10

Take all the applications and sort them into to pile. No or Yes for the job. If you have some maybe put them in the yes pile to compare to other applicants. Now it a simple process of deciding who you want to hire.
