Instructions

    • 1

Insert your DVD RW disc into one of the CD ROM disc drives in your computer. A box pops up automatically on your computer screen asking you what you want to do with the disc. You should be able to save the files, open a folder containing the files, rip the files, rewrite the files or do nothing with the files.

    • 2

Click on the prompt that allows you to open a folder containing the files. Once you do this, one of two things will happen. If your computer supports the file type on your DVD RW, you will be able to view or play the files. If not, you will only be able to view the files within the "My Computer" file that you can double-click on your computer desktop. In order to play any music, photo or video files on your DVD RW, you have to be inside all folders and looking at the files themselves.

Play or save the files. If you wish to play them, simply click on the file you want to play, and your computer plays the file. If you want to save the files to your computer, right-click on the files you want to save, click "Copy" and paste the files in whichever folder you wish.

Locate a folder inside your computer that you want to save the files in. For example, the "Videos" folder on your computer would be accessed by clicking on "My Documents" from your computer desktop and then clicking on "My Videos." Once you are inside the folder, you can paste the files you copied right into the folder. Do this by either holding down the Control button on your computer and pressing the V key or by right-clicking anywhere inside the folder and selecting "Paste."

Rename your files by right-clicking on the each individual file that you want to rename and choosing "Rename." Type in whatever name you choose. Pick a name that is easy to remember but will help you distinguish between your newly-acquired files.

Tips & Warnings

  • Remember where you saved the files, if you save your files to your computer. This way you'll be able to access the files quickly and easily the next time you want to view or watch the files.
