Available for Windows systems, ePSXe is a hardware emulator that allows users to play PlayStation games on their computers. Rather than using PlayStation memory cards, game saves and user data is stored in virtual memory card files on the hard drive. Memory card files are useful because they can be traded to other users or backed up to other storage devices. The user can delete all user data stored on the memory card file or delete the entire memory card file itself.

Step 1
Launch ePSXe by double-clicking on the ePSXe application icon. Since ePSXe is not installed using an installer application, the program will be located wherever you unpacked the ePSXe zip file.

Click "File" in the top menu bar and select "Run BIOS." The PlayStation boot screen will appear.
Step 3
Select "Memory Card" from the boot screen and select the memory card that you want to delete data from. Press the "Triangle" button on your controller if using one, or press the corresponding key on the keyboard ("Z" by default). A memory card sub-menu will appear.
Step 4
Select "Format" from the sub-menu. The memory card will reformat and all data will be wiped from the memory card file.
Deleting Entire Memory Card File
Step 1
Browse to the ePSXe application directory. The directory will be located wherever you unzipped the ePSXe program folder.
Step 2
Double-click on "memcards" folder to open the memory card directory.
Step 3
Select the memory card file that you want to delete. Memory card files have file extension .mcr and the default names for memory cards one and two are "epsxe000" and "epsxe001." Press the "Delete" key. You can also drag the memory card file to the Recycle Bin icon on the desktop.
