Say "I Love You" in Spanish

Spanish is a romantic language. After all, it is one of the romance languages. As such a romantic language, Spanish has several ways of expressing "I love you". So read on to find out how.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

The most direct translation of "I love you" in Spanish is "te amo". It is pronounced like "tay ah-moe". Keep in mind that this is a very serious expression in Spanish and should not be said lightly. Most likely you will only hear this expression in the context of a committed relationship.

  2. Step 2

If you don't feel so romantically inclined, don't worry, because there is an alternative that is lighter-hearted. It's "te quiero". It is pronounced "tay key-air-o". This is a lot like "I like you" in English, but is a bit stronger.

  3. Step 3

To say, "I am in love", just say "estoy enamorado". Unless you are a woman, that is. In that case, say "estoy enamorada".

  4. Step 4

There is another saying that is "me gustas". This means "I like you (physically)." It is a bit crude, however, so use it sparingly or with someone who has a good sense of humor.

  5. Step 5

That's all it takes. Now you know how to say "I love you" in Spanish. Good luck and have fun on your travels!
