How to Make a Wedding Album Cover
Your wedding day is one of the most important days of your life, and you want everything to be perfect, especially the photos so that you'll have something to look back on and remember. Storing wedding photos is just as important so that they won't become damaged but are still out and accessible, allowing you to look at them often and show them off. A wedding album works best for this, and by making your own cover you can customize it to fit your own taste, style and even the wedding colors and trends themselves. Making an album cover is easy and the possibilities of what you can do are endless.

1
Choose a photo album or scrapbook to cover and make your wedding album. One with a photo cutout in the center of the cover is preferable, because then you can insert a photo from your happy day and know instantly what is inside that particular album.

2
Measure the album's width and height and also the thickness of the album. Write down these specifications. Add four inches to the width and height but not to the thickness of the album. This extra fabric will be used to tuck on the inside of the album when securing in place. Choose a fabric (satin is best) in a color that you like. Most people choose white or one of the wedding colors. Cut a piece to fit the measurements you wrote down.

3
Lay the fabric out on a flat surface, right side down. Place the album on the fabric and position it so that there is at least an extra inch of fabric on each side. Cut off the corners of the fabric, but don't get too close to the book. If there is a photo cut out in the album cover, trace it on the back side (wrong side of the fabric). Then measure in 3/4 inch all the way around and draw a smaller square or circle in the center. Cut this section of the fabric out.
-
4
Spray the wrong side of the fabric lightly with fabric glue. Quickly cover the album, pushing the fabric on and smoothing it as you do to eliminate wrinkles or crinkling. If there is a photo cut out on the cover, make a diagonal cut in the corners of the opening you cut for it and spray the inside edges with glue. Fold the edges of the fabric over the opening and press down. Let dry for a few minutes.

5
Open the album and place fabric or craft glue on the inside cover edges. Take each edge of fabric (the extra inch) and fold it in half, then push it onto the glue. Smooth and hold in place. Repeat all the way around so that all of the edges are securely pressed down. Add any decorative elements you like, such as glue-on rhinestones, beading and more.

Find photos of album designs you like in magazines or online to try and copy for your album.
Don't use original photos for the cover that cannot be replaced; have copies made, as cover photos can be destroyed over time
