You may have several issues when attempting to get your iPod games to work. Potential problems can include the games not syncing onto your iPod or a failure in functionality. Since you have likely paid to have these games for your iPod, you should know how to troubleshoot iPod games in the case that they will not play on your device.

Difficulty: Moderate
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Download the latest version of iTunes before attempting to sync your iPod games. An outdated version can cause your games to not work correctly or not sync onto your iPod. You will also need at least a 3rd generation iPod in order to play games on the device.

  2. Step 2

Check the compatibility of your iPod with the games that you have selected for download. Go to the "Devices" menu on the iTunes menu. An iPod Games tab should be appear along with the games that you have downloaded. If it does not show up, the game will not work on your iPod model.

  3. Step 3

Sync the games onto the iPod. If the game will not automatically sync with your iPod, you may have to manually select the title that you want to work on your iPod. To do this, click on the "iPod Games" tab and check the "Sync Games" checkbox. Choose "Selected Games" and then pick the particular game that you want to work. After you hit "Apply," it should be found in your iPod menu.

  4. Step 4

Reset your iPod and then try to sync the games again if they will not work. To reset your iPod, toggle the hold button and then hold down the "menu" and "select" keys simultaneously until the Apple logo appears.

  5. Step 5

Get additional help from the Apple Support website. The Apple site can give you additional troubleshooting advice if your iPod games still won't work.
