Things You'll Need:
- 1/8 inch mini jack to RCA cable
- Standard RCA connector cable
-
Step 1
Decide on the type of mixer that is going to be used with the microphone. A mixer such as the M1 USB mixer from Numark is compact and comes with USB audio input/output connectivity. The mixer can be found at the Turntable Lab website (see Resources).
-
Step 2
Connect the USB microphone directly into the mixer using a USB cable. Plug one end of the cable into the microphone and the other into the USB port on the mixer.
-
Step 3
Connect a computer to the mixer using either a 1/8-inch mini jack to RCA cable or a standard RCA cable. Plug one end of the cable either into the audio line out from the sound card or on-board audio into the line in on the mixer.
-
Step 4
Connect the USB microphone to the computer. The computer will send the audio input from the microphone out to the mixer. Plug one end of a USB cable into the microphone and the other end into a USB port on the computer.
-
Step 5
Adjust the audio level that is being sent to the mixer from the computer. This can be done by either using software that came with a sound card or using Volume Control from the Windows Taskbar.
-
Step 6
Right-click on the volume icon on the Taskbar and select "Open Volume Control." Move the slider under the Volume Control and Wave selection to adjust the audio level.
