Bluetooth headsets contain a small earpiece and a microphone. When turned on and connected via Bluetooth to a compatible cellphone, phone calls can be made hands-free.

These small headsets fit in one ear and have a small clip that wraps behind the ear to hold the headset in place. You can get a free Bluetooth headset through a few different means.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Contact your cellphone service provider or visit one of their stores. Plan to do this when you are getting ready to purchase a new cellphone handset.

  2. Step 2

Ask about special offers offered by either the cellphone service provider or the company that produces the cellphone. Some new cellphones will come with free Bluetooth headsets provided in the box.

  3. Step 3

Ask specifically about deals that offer free accessories with the purchase of a new phone. If the phone doesn't come with a Bluetooth headset, inquire about any specials or deals being offered by the cellphone service provider. Depending on the time of year and the sales available, a headset may be given to customers purchasing eligible phones and plans.

Tips & Warnings
  • Keep an eye out for special offers from your cellphone service provider. Sales and free offers typically increase during the holiday shopping period.
  • Read the fine print before accepting a free accessory or offer. Sometimes the offer may come with a contract commitment or an increase in account costs.
