How to Remove the Strainer in a Frigidaire Dishwasher

Dishwashers are a housekeeping godsend. They are easy-to-use, sanitary and, if you are using an energy-efficient dishwasher, it's actually more environmentally responsible to use a dishwasher than to wash your dishes by hand. But even energy-efficient dishwashers can stop working efficiently if there is a problem with the drainage or if there is something blocking the strainer.

Things You'll Need:

• Torque screwdriver

1. Remove the dish shelves/baskets so you have room to work.

2. Unscrew the plastic screws around the lower spray arm. Remove the arm.

3. Remove the plastic tube that moves the water between the two spray arms. Unhinge the top and middle clips from the tube. Gently wiggle it out.

4. Turn the tube at the bottom of the dishwasher 1/4 of the way around and remove the tube.

5. Unscrew the four Torq screws on the strainer cover. Remove the strainer.
