How to Decorate a Room for Three Girls
The most important thing to consider when designing and decorating a shared bedroom for children is their need for privacy and personal space. Take into account each siblings' personality and allow her "side" of the room to reflect it through the use of colors and fabrics. Include enough storage, so the children won't feel the need to fight over space. If the closet isn't large enough to hold everyone's clothing, consider purchasing a armoire or wardrobe to add space. Does this Spark an idea?

1
Decide on bed arrangements. Consider a bunk bed for two of the children and a twin bed for the the third. If there is enough space, get three twin beds so that each child gets her own private sleeping area. Allow each girl to pick out bedding to personalize her space.

2
Use attractive room dividers to break up the bedroom and provide privacy. Each girl can have her own section of the room and can use the divider if she feels the need to be alone. It is important for each of them to have a quiet space to do homework, write in her journal or pursue other solo activities.

Ensure that the bedroom has adequate storage. Children can have a lot of clothing and personal items, and one closet may not be large enough to hold everything. Consider adding an armoire or wardrobe to the room. If there is enough space, allow each girl to have her own dresser.

Use a different color and decorating style to identify each girl's personal space. Allow each of them to choose her favorite color and pick out lamp shades, picture frames, decor and bedding in that shade. You can even paint the walls different colors to reflect each girl's taste.

To make each girl's space even more private, buy a canopy or tent for each bed. This also will allow a girl to read using a small, personal light without disrupting her siblings' sleep.
