Making a change to improve your life in any way is a good thing to do. Many people decide to make changes in their lives, but have no idea how to go about it. Decide what it is that you want to change and work towards it. Changing only one thing at a time usually works best. Understand that changing any habit or lifestyle will take some time. You will need to have a strong will and a positive attitude and anything is possible.

Things You'll Need:

  1. Step 1

Develop a plan of action. Know what you want to change and how you will go about it. For example, if you choose to eat healthy foods instead of unhealthy foods, you wouldn't want to deny yourself everything you like. You would take it slow and start eliminating a few things at a time from your diet. You will also want to control your portion size when eating. By making small changes, you will begin to see big results in time.

  2. Step 2

Keep a journal of your progress. This journal will be helpful in letting you know where you started and how far you've come. It will show you the struggles you've had as well as the successes. Write in the journal daily. Tell what you are thinking and feeling at that particular moment. Be honest with yourself when you are writing in your journal. If you don't tell yourself the truth, then you can not change much in your life.

  3. Step 3

Try not to be too hard on yourself. Any time a person decides to make a change in her life, there will be tough times. Let yourself feel any emotions that may arise. You will be very proud of yourself if you allow yourself to feel as you make your transition. Remember that you are not alone and that you can make any changes in your life if you work hard at it everyday.
