How to Make Family Bracelets

Family bracelets are a wonderful way to celebrate your family; whether it is a family reunion or a Christmas present. Bracelets can be budget friendly; easy to make; and a great craft to make with the kids.

Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  1. Step 1

    Purchase plastic alphabet beads that have all the letters of your family name. These beads can be bought at any craft store. You will need enough letters for each bracelet. Count how many family members are going to get a bracelet. Now count out the letters in your family name and times that the number of bracelets needed. Some family names will have multiple vowels or consonants so make sure you have the correct amount of letters for each bracelet. Also, get solid colors to decorate around the family name.

  2. Step 2

    Measure the wrists of each family member to know how long the bracelet needs to be. Use a measuring tape and write down the correct measurements. Cut fishing line using these measurements.

  3. Step 3

    Take the cut fishing line and tie the end piece to the clasp. This clasp will be your end piece.

  4. Step 4

    Use the other end of the fishing line and begin placing colored beads onto the fishing wire. Use five or size colored beads to begin the bracelet.

  5. Step 5

    Add the letter beads, spelling out the family name. Continue until entire family name has been spelled.

  6. Step 6

    Add the same amount of solid colored beads as on the other side of the bracelet.

  7. Step 7

    Tie the end of the fishing wire to the the clasp on the the end of the bracelet. Make sure the bracelet is secure. To do this, connect the wire to the clasp and make a knot in the fishing wire. Once secure, cut away any of the extra fishing wire.
