Holding the bottom half of the paper flat on the table or other surface, bring the top corner down towards the bottom corner, but not all the way, leaving about one-tenth of the distance from top to bottom. Make sure the edges of the top half and bottom half of the paper are parallel, and that the corners are pointing down at the same angle. Fold the paper flat and crease.

Flip the paper over sideways again so that the top corner remains the top corner, and the bottom corner remains the bottom corner. Take the left flap of only the top layer of the paper, and bring its bottom corner up and left. You will want to fold such that a crease is formed from leftmost corner of the paper and a point about three-quarters of the way up the middle of the paper.

Repeat with the right flap: take the right flap of the top layer of the paper and bring its bottom corner up and right. You will want to fold such that a crease is formed from rightmost corner of the paper and a point about three-quarters of the way up the middle of the paper. Repeat with the right flap.

At the bottom of the paper, place your finger in between the front and back layers. Pull the front layer towards you, and the back layer away so that the bottom of the paper opens, forming the inside of the Viking helmet. To help keep the helmet open, make a small crease halfway between the left and right corners on both the front and back sides.
Tips & Warnings
When making a fold or crease, it is helpful to reinforce the crease by pressing against the crease with a ruler, fingernail, or anything hard that will fully fold, but not tear the paper.
Watch out for paper cuts!
