Things You'll Need:
- Glass cleaner
- Paper towels
- Squeege
- Razor blade
- Scissors
- Spray bottle
- Window tint
- Poster board
-
Step 1
Use a glass cleaner to clean the inside of the windows. To do this, spray the glass cleaner generously and wipe clean with a paper towel.
-
Step 2
Use your poster board and scissors to make a template of your window. To do this, hold a sheet of poster board against the inside of your window and trace the outer egde with a pencil. Cut an 1/8-inch inside the pencil line, eliminating any overhang.
-
Step 3
Transfer the template to the tint. Lay your template on the window tint. Use your razor blade to cut along the edge of the template.
-
Step 4
Wet and install your tint. Start by peeling off the clear protective layer on the tint; doing this will expose the sticky side of the tint. Use your Spray bottle with soapy water. Wet the entire sticky side of the tint and inside of the window. Once this is done, lay the tint on the window.
-
Step 5
Squeegee the tint. Spray the outside of the tint; this is done so the squeegee will slide across the tint without scratching it. Use your squeegee to start working the water out from between the window and the tint.
Press the squeegee to the tint and slide it all the way across the window, leaving no water or air bubbles behind. Continue this process until all of the water and air is gone. Wipe any excess water from the tint with a paper towel.
